Steps. Add a plane increase it segments, add a motext, add a collision deformers make it a child of the plane go into its collision tab and add the mo text, (you can change the type to what you want) then in the collision tab of the deformers, with the mo text in the list, change the dropdown menu to inside (stretch), this is key to having the effect happen then move the motext as you like it and you will sit it deform, adjust the setting in the object tab, I changed the falloff dropdown to collider mode, then you can have control over the surface of the deformer, I found this quite taxing on my system, Ive have also add a Subdivision surface to the plane by this point. to create extra subdivisions, maybe it is best to add this last, the play with the strength, distance, and the curve editor, you can also change in the viewport options window menu the level of detail. to med rather than high. Then add a material. Voila.
